Dream Team Reunion!

This weekend was so awesome! It was great to get back together with some of our Families on Mission team members. On Saturday, the guys were invited by Ralph to play golf in the morning and they had a blast! Jay said they played scramble so everyone got to do their best and it went quicker than a regular 18 hole would. So, they were back at the Barber's house (the one in the photo above...GORGEOUS!!!) by the time the moms met there with all the kids.

Here's a photo of the kids...as usual mine are the only girls around! You wouldn't have known it though! They had the best time with everyone and we couldn't believe how great they all got along together.

Once the guys got there, we loaded up all the minivans and headed over to the Barber's Country Club that is a part of the subdivision they live in. It was gorgeous and no one else was even there. We had the place to ourselves. The Barbers graciously had them open the grill and made our lunches to order! What a blessing their family was to allow us all to enjoy what God has given them! We had such a blast swimming and playing together.

Thanks Ralph and Patti for opening your home and being so generous to feed this crowd not only a huge lunch...but a Slopes BBQ dinner too!

Julie, Kim, and I enjoyed talking and sitting on the edge while the kids and dads played in the pool! It was a perfect day!

Jay and I had a great time hanging out with our team and each other! We can't wait until next summer when we hope some of this team will be a part of the location we are coordinating.

During adult swim, the kids headed to the playground and the sand! I'm sure the pool crew wasn't very thrilled that they were playing in the sand...and then heading back into the pool!

Next, we loaded up in some golf carts that they had provided for us and went to the driving range and putting green. Anli and Virginia enjoyed driving the golf cart for us!

OK, this experience of Anli driving started me thinking about her REALLY driving in a few short years...AGGGG!This is Trey and he was a whiz at driving this golf cart! He is the Barber's son...so he has his own golf cart at home too. The kids spent the afternoon at their house taking rides through the yard and the neighborhood riding in it!Daddy was in charge of teaching about golf. I have NO idea about golf and tried to hit a few myself...one time I never even got close to the ball. The girls did really well though!

After golf, we headed over to the indoor tennis facility and we all enjoyed playing tennis. Anli is barefoot while playing...and I can tell you from having to play barefoot myself for a while...it HURTS! But, she never noticed at all! She played for a while, but then found out that she could organize the balls for the ball machine and that was where we found her the rest of the time. She is so like her daddy...see below...

Jay helped out by cleaning up the courts with this ball machine.

Virginia spent most of the time in front of the ball machine working on her hitting. Sometimes the balls came a little fast and hard...she looks like she is fighting wild balls off here! What a stance! After all the fun at the Country club, we headed back to the Barber's house to shower and relax. The kids ran wild, played Rock Band and Guitar Hero, rode golf carts, played pool and basically we didn't see them all afternoon. Until the food arrived...yummy Slopes BBQ and tons of desserts. Julie and her family made homemade ice cream that was out of this world!

Virginia spent most of her time with this little fella...Sonny. He is the best Chihuahua in the world. He never yapped or ran around at all. He was like her little baby. He loved it too! She now wants one of her own.About the time we were leaving, they got the ramp out! Anli looks like some kind of Xgames girl with that helmet. She had a blast and did really well. Needless to say, as a mom of girls, I don't see much of this kind of stuff often. I was a little nervous...but she survived just fine!

Virginia tries with a scooter! She is the slow and steady child who does not take risks! Good girl...
Well, that was our crazy weekend! If you want to have these kinds of memories yourself, you should think about signing up for Families on Mission with the North American Mission Board. Check the link by clicking on the word above to take you there for yourself. It is amazing and we can't wait to go back next year. We have already planned our next reunion for January...we're headed to the mountains and skiing! Can't wait!
