Easter on the Farm!

After church, we got in the car picked up Pacey dog and headed to celebrate Easter with my family in Alabama! The weather was amazing and we got there just in time to sit outside on the TWO awesome porches that are now finished and eat fried chicken, potato salad, fruit salad...and of course this YUMMY cake! Most of my aunts and uncles and cousins were all there to enjoy Easter at the farm...
After we were stuffed, it was time for some of us older kids to go and hide the 100 (I'm being serious...trust me!) eggs that were stuffed with candy and MONEY! My mom got 6 golden eggs that she planted 5 golden dollars in each of them...I wanted to hunt eggs then!

OK, then the funniest thing happened:) My sister Leslie and I hid most of the eggs and she was in charge of the golden eggs since they had to be hidden really well. She decided to hide one on top of this pole and that golden $5 egg fell right in and got stuck. They tried ALL kinds of hysterical things to fish that egg out!! Here they were trying to fill the pole with water while my cousin from Chicago held her finger in the hole to not let the water out...HYSTERICAL!
Then it was Ready. Set. HUNT!

Every kid got one golden egg!

The kids were VERY hot and ready for a dip in the pool...really...they did! It was almost 90 degrees and they went in and had a blast! I put one toe in and thought they were crazy. Virginia decided to just stay on the steps because it was kind of chilly...smart girl:)

Anli...well, she was diving in as soon as possible!

This is the finished porch! It has taken them a while to finish, but it is HUGE and truly beautiful! They have another screened porch to the left of the photo that is not shown. My dad's Alton Brown sized grill is to the left and they have just loved being out on this porch in the comfy chairs and by the fireplace. It's heaven on 11 wooded acres...and for city folks who live in an apartment...it's just about perfect!
Happy Easter y'all!
