This morning since Jay was home, we decided to head over to the Woodstock Library and early vote.
We told the girls that we would delay school and get dressed and try to see if we could go ahead and vote today. Well, Anli began to belt out "God Bless America" while dressing in a bright red best, dark blue jeans, and a white turtleneck! She's a trip! You can't see but I have an American flag on my sweater...we're just that crazy.
Our girls have gone with us to vote every time there has been an election during their lifetimes. It's important for them to see the process and be a part of this freedom. We talked a little about the candidates and who we would be voting for today. They did such a great job that people were commenting on how well behaved they were...technology is a great thing too:)
We all put on our red, white and blue and headed out to brave the cold and lines. But, we were pleasantly surprised that the line was only 32 minutes long when we arrived!
Each of the girls got to go with one of us to actually vote! They loved seeing the screen and we talked them through some of the process. They really had fun and it was extremely educational for them to walk the entire process with us. Everyone was thrilled to see such young "future voters." I'm so proud of these girls!!!
